    Emma loves doing work that matters. This includes building transferrable skills in leadership, management, and project management to create successful teams in the public service, and working shoulder to shoulder with clients to help transform operation models (including technology, structure, ways of working, culture and capability).

    Another highlight has been contributing to Victoria’s circular economy by assisting a recycling-focused public sector client manage change and onboard new ways of working.

    Emma enjoys working at Gov insights as it enables her to work on the ground with people managing real-world challenges. Emma’s background in psychology, and an intrigue for what makes us unique, means she likes to get to know the people she works with and understand their circumstances, so that she can apply a practical approach to problem solving.

    Proudest Achievement:

    Emma’s most proud of her ability to create strong connections and get to the bottom of an issue before getting caught up in the solutions. Cutting through the noise to understand the challenge means Emma can define what meaningful and lasting change looks like.

    Three Intriguing Facts:

    I have a toddler son who is the light of my life, but who has a passion for running, roads and cars. Therefore, he also gives me daily heart attacks and keeps me on my toes!

    I lived in Ireland for 11 years, including during the recession 2008-2011 making it hard to secure work. I ended up in a range of short-term positions including in a bakery, as an event security guard, a nightclub bouncer, in a jewellery shop, in a recruitment agency, and many bars and restaurants. I understand what it’s like to be at the coal face and work alongside different types of people.

    I have done taekwondo for 15 years and represented Ireland internationally. Although I won medals at an international level, I have also fractured my jaw and been knocked unconscious so truly understand what it feels to be an underdog and to triumph over adversity.

    Leading Change in the Public Sector:

    Emma has worked across the public sector in a variety of settings with expertise in change management, project management, leadership and strategy. Emma’s desire to support change is derived from a need to improve outcomes for the public.

    Meet Sean, a powerhouse at Gov Insights, whose impressive qualifications and diverse experience have positioned him as a passionate advocate for human rights and community change.

    Debbie Wood brings over two decades of design and communication expertise to the forefront at Gov Insights. Specialising in Graphic Recording & Illustration, she masterfully transforms complex ideas into compelling visual narratives for a wide range of sectors including government, disability, not-for-profit, corporate, and more.

    Expertise:

    Veteran Graphic Recorder & Illustrator with extensive experience in conveying organisational messages and purposes through visual art.

    Worked across diverse industries such as FMCG, elite sport, leadership coaching, legal, education, health, finance, and engineering.

    Accomplished in creating engaging, informative designs that capture and communicate key messages and data.

    Work Highlight:

    Discovering graphic recording as a professional calling was Debbie's glittering moment. Her experience with the Accelerated Solutions Environment in Sydney was akin to a magical escapade, one that has since seen her blend graphic design with graphic recording to dynamic effect.

    Debbie’s zest for visual storytelling is unmatched. She’s passionate about using her art to facilitate understanding and connection within and across organisations.

    Work Highlight:

    Trish loves keeping the books in order for Cam and Dave so they can do their best work. Being able to apply her expertise and proactively manage the administration and finances of the business brings her great satisfaction.

    Passion:

    Creating the space for Cam and Dave to work ON the business, not IN it, drives Trish. Trish’s attention to detail means she can support the vital administration and paperwork of a dynamic business such as Gov Insights, and it allows the team and the business to grow. Trish also loves to see the transformation in clients and watching them progress on their unique journeys.

    Beyond Work:

    Trish adores good food and wine (who doesn’t?), so regular trips into the city to try the latest and greatest restaurants is a regular activity. Trish is also a lover of fishing and football – both activities which connect her to nature and her family.
